Crosswoods Indoor Golf Center is a unique facility concept that merges technology, golf and social interaction between family, friends and co-workers in a setting that feels more like a happy hour at your favorite eatery than golf at pretentious country club.
Do bring your golf bag and all of the usual golfing gear because you will be playing the same game you are used to, except here you will enter into the virtual world of state-of-the-art golf simulators.  Saying that Crosswoods’ golf simulators is like Nintendo Wii Golf on steroids is gross understatement. Here your experience is derived from a combination of physical skill, golf ball tracking software, and 3D graphics that can transport you to forty world-renowned golf courses or if you want to take a trip to a surreal golf world, "Infamous 18" where you can tee off from a 50-story building in New York or take your best shot at par 3 surrounded by cascading waterfalls 200 ft hight in the Amazon Jungle.

When you first walk into Crosswoods you feel an atmosphere that is fun and vibrant with music playing, the crashing sounds of tee-shots, and laughter between friends and family. There is a beer and wine bar, tables for food service and flat screen televisions that provide an ambiance more reflective of a bowling alley. Don’t expect the usual quiet hush-hush of the country club. The ambient surrounding sounds are easy enough to drown out with a steady focus when you are playing. The atmosphere is a welcome relief from the intimidation than can be associated with the game.
Crosswoods is a great place for families, friends, corporate groups and networking events. The indoor golf center can accommodate small groups to parties of 150 people. There are 8 simulators in the main room and 2 simulators in the private salon which is available for private parties and business events of all types.

If you are looking to play a round you can choose from 9 or 18 holes as a single player or up to as many as six players per simulator. The facility is run just like a regular golf course. You need to reserve a tee-time for your group in advance or take a chance as a walk-in if a simulator is available. Bring your clubs, glove, shoes, etc., everything you would normally play with except you can leave your umbrella behind. Normal play on takes about 1 hour per person. So if you have a foursome, plan on at least 4 hours for a full round of 18 holes.

Each golf simulator has a table for food service and drinks. It’s common to see non-golfers hanging around enjoying a bite or a drink while their hubbies play. A flat screen television is standard at every “sim” station where satellite tv, dvd and laptops can be connected to entertain the non-golfers. Want to jam out to your favorite tunes while playing? Bring your ipod and connect to your personal audio system. Your sim station is your group’s entertainment center with the intention of maximum enjoyment and comfort.

Golfers of all levels will appreciate the Driving Range module. Designed with practice and swing analysis software that compiles real-time data from three cameras which triangulate and photograph the ball flight at 150 frames per second.  The simulator software analyzes your stroke providing you with a comprehensive report to help improve accuracy, distance, ball spin and overall control the clubs in your bag. The data collected from your swing analysis can be recorded for study and comparison for future game improvement.

Owners Bev and Brad Lefebvre run the business with a hands-on personal approach. They are both on-site at one of their two locations in Chandler and Gilbert and are very active in promoting Crosswoods for business, social events, golf instruction and leagues. Currently they are running a summer couples league, kids camp, long-drive qualifiers, skins leagues and other social activities during televised PGA, NBA, MLD and other sports events such as the US Open, Super Bowl and World Series. Bev and Brad welcome whatever theme party, bachelor or birthday party ideas you have. They have an open door and an open-minded policy to help create and make your event a success.

My only complaint about Crosswoods Indoor Golf Center is that their only two locations are not close enough to my home but I’ve often said I don’t mind traveling for golf. Opportunities are available for franchise ownership or for personal use ownership. Brad has installed golf simulators in personal residences for their own private use. So if you are thinking about upgrading your man cave with a golf simulator, be sure to contact Brad Lefebvre at Crosswoods (480) 961-GOLF.

I am looking forward to seeing more Crosswoods Indoor Golf centers especially as the heat continues to rise and when the sun starts to set early. Now we have an opportunity to play year round, night and day, rain, sleet or snow. I want to personally thank Bev and Brad for introducing me to Crosswoods and allowing us to tour their facilities. You can find discounted tee times for both of Crosswood’s Chandler and Gilbert locations at Loco4golf.com inside our golf directory.

  1. Cool! Do you guys use the GC2 by Foresight Sports? I checked it out at the PGA show in January and it's pretty amazing simulation.
